A few weeks back I went out to record the rockets of D.A.R.T. They are the Diego Area Rocket Team (DART) D.A.R.T., a chartered section of the National Association of Rocketry, was founded in Des Moines, Iowa and relocated to San Diego in the late 1960’s. They were nice enough to fire a bunch or rockets in relative silence so a colleague and I could get some very clean recordings.This rocket is a I254 Motor recorded with a DPA 4060 mounted just a few feet away from the launch pad. Mountain Lake Biological Station
This post comes from Stephen Vitiello who has been spending time at the Mountain Lake Biological Station in Pembroke, VA: I was tipped off to some sounds to listen for – juvenile barred owls, calling after sunset. I left a pair of DPA 4060s in a tree over night and captured some call and response and a moment of rain.
