All Decked Out For Quarantine Part 3

Image

I didn’t spend much time out on the deck this past weekend because it was a bit blustery. I stayed inside, but the recording rig didn’t have the same luxury. Our deck is surrounded by these really ugly shrubs that I can’t stand but they do make for a good leafy wind. I believe they are officially called Uglimarinus Shrubalis. [1]

The wind in this recording is made up of the ugly shrubs, some oak trees and some evergreens that line the back fence. All in all it is a soothing wind. Like any suburban neighborhood there is some light traffic, a yappy dog, and if you make it to the end of the recording, you’ll hear my neighbor take out his recycling. It is quite an exciting moment.

Recording Geek Note: Rig consists of Schoeps CMC1′s with MK4 capsules setup for double ORTF. It was tracked with a Cooper CS 104 feeding a Sound Devices 744T

  1. Actually, I have no idea, but if you do know they name of the ugly shrubs in the photo please let me know.  ↩
